The winner of the 2008 Spirit of Nature award was Chilean architect José Cruz Ovalle, whose sculpture Lamina 2 provides a resting place at the old railway embankment on the shore of Vesijärvi lake, in the immediate vicinity of the harbour. The work was completed in 2017.
