Environmental art

Between 2008 and 2015, the Pro Puu Association organised extensive environmental art exhibitions to be held annually on the southern shores of Vesijärvi lake. Popularly known as the beach gallery, the exhibitions consisting of 10–14 temporary works could be experienced both on foot and via boat cruises. Sited in the natural landscape, the artworks were realised by several professionals and students of architecture, design and art. Artist Matti Koskela participated in the 2010 exhibition with his work Messages from Winds, which was erected at the tip of Ruoriniemi headland with the assistance of students from Salpaus vocational school. The work is owned by the Pro Puu Centre.
