There is a Soviet cemetery in Nastola, Lahti, which is the resting place of 1,055 Soviet soldiers who died in Finland during the Winter and Continuation Wars. The statue Mother Earth, erected on the site in 1987, is dedicated to fallen Soviet citizens. The statue was designed by Soviet sculptor Vladimir Feodorov. Nearby is a memorial plaque bearing the names of the fallen.
