On a Stone depicts a naked female figure resting on a stone. Stretched out on her back on a wide slab, the woman has bent and crossed her legs and has tilted her head back, her face towards the sky. With its clear and beautiful lines, the attractive work is endowed with a serenity that seems to embody the unhurried and relaxed atmosphere at the Pikku-Vesijärvenpuisto park, reminding passers-by of the importance of slowing down and living in the moment. Lanu is known to have created a work in the 1980s called Soraa (Gravel) in Burgdorf, Switzerland, in which he used the same reclining figure.
