Bronze

On Kirkkokatu Street, at the main entrance of the Lahden Seurakuntatalo building, visitors are greeted by Aarre Aaltonen’s reliefs The Sower and The Grain Cutter. The bronze reliefs are located opposite each other on the walls both sides of the entrance staircase.

In The Sower relief, a barefoot male figure holds in one hand a cloth used for carrying grain seeds, which is wrapped around his hips. The classically styled figure is depicted in a slightly sideways pose and his other hand is outstretched, casting the seeds.
