This massive monument stands at the junction of Uotilankatu and Jankkarinkatu streets in the Riihelä neighbourhood. Entitled Twins, the work was erected to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Association of Builders in Lahti. It was originally conceived as a tribute to the people involved in building the city over the decades. The monument was designed by Heikki Mattila (b. 1924), an engineer and member of the builders’ association.
