Open workshop

An open workshop where all museum visitors are welcome to participate. Open workshops have different themes and techniques based on current exhibitions.

In this open art workshop, participants will draw inspiration from the exhibition Talentless [youth] and the cows they care for, currently on display in the Cellar Gallery, as well as from its atmosphere and artworks. Using the art materials available in Kumma, you can explore collage and mixed media techniques and create your own layered artwork. The workshop is suitable for children, young people, and anyone interested in the theme. Young children are welcome to participate together with an accompanying adult.

The workshop will be led by Lahti-based photographic artist Mikko Kerttula. Kerttula has worked as a commissioned artist for a project involving young adults, exploring together with participants the things that make their lives glow. He has also contributed to the exhibition Talentless [youth] and the cows they care for. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to discover and reflect on the things in their own lives that inspire, energize, and make them glow.

The non-stop workshop is open to everyone and you can come and go during the workshop. 15 people can work at a time, new participants can join when space becomes available. Working is suitable for everyone, no prior knowledge or skill is required. . Participation with a museum admission ticket, free entry for children under 18. No advance registration is required. The workshop will be held in Kumma in the basement of Malva.
